题目:Teaching Children to Recruit Positive Attention

时间:2018年11月19日(周一,15:30-16:30)

地点:中山大学东校园心理学系(南学院楼C座)305

报告简介:

Adult attention and praise are powerful influences on children’s behavior. In classrooms, where desirable behavior often goes unnoticed by teachers, some students learn that misbehaving is the surest way to get attention. As a result, these students exhibit problem behavior more frequently, which leads to an ongoing pattern of negative interactions with teachers. Teaching students to politely recruit positive teacher attention for academic efforts can reverse this pattern of negativity and improve children’s academic performance. The results of several research studies in which students with and without disabilities were taught to recruit teacher attention will be presented and a systematic method for recruitment training described.
