题目：Dynamic Face Recognition with Different Types of Facial Motion: The Effect of Encoding Time, Face Race, and Eye Contact

Research on face recognition were based on static faces in the past decades. Recently, dynamic faces have attracted researchers’ interest but the effect of type of facial motion and social signal that they conveyed still remain unknown. In the present study, we aimed to investigate how type of facial motion, eye contact, as well as face race and encoding time might affect dynamic face recognition. In Experiment 1, we asked participants to complete a recognition memory task while manipulating the type of motion (rigid: such as turning one’s head and elastic: such as eye blinking and talking), the encoding time (short, long) and face race (own-race, other-race). In the long encoding condition, participants showed better recognition on elastic motion than that on rigid motion, but only for own-race faces. In Experiment 2, we added eye contact (direct-gaze versus averted-gaze) to examine whether eye contact accounted for the difference between two types of motion. Results showed that direct-gaze faces were better recognized than averted-gaze faces in the long encoding condition, regardless of facial motion. In sum, these results indicate that the effect of types of motion on dynamic face recognition might be mediated by eye contact.

周国梅，女，中山大学心理学系教授，博士生导师。北京师范大学心理学系理学学士（1998）。中国科学院心理研究所基础心理学专业理学博士（2003）。香港中文大学心理学系博士后（2003-2005）。2006年以中山大学“百人计划”引进人才加入中山大学心理学系。美国斯坦福大学心理学系访问学者（2012-2013）。美国Psychonomic Society高级会员。Attention, Perception, and Psychophysics; British Journal of Psychology; Cognitive Processing; Consciousness and Cognition; International Journal of Psychology; Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance; Neuroscience Letters; PLoS ONE; Vision Research; Visual Cognition;心理学报; 心理科学; 心理科学进展; 科学通报等期刊审稿人。主要研究方向是面孔加工。主持2项国家自然科学基金项目，1项省级项目。成果发表在Consciousness and Cognition、Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance、Journal of Vision、Psychonomic Bulletin and Review、Visual Cognition、心理学报等国内外认知心理学领域的知名期刊。

冯新然，女，中山大学心理学系在读硕士研究生。2011-2015，中山大学哲学系，逻辑学专业。于2015年获哲学学士学位，同年保送至中山大学心理学系攻读硕士学位，指导老师为周国梅教授。将于2018年毕业，赴英国York大学攻读博士学位。
