题目:Human Spatial Memory and Navigation in 3D and Across-Boundary Spaces

报告简介:
In navigation, we need to remember locations of objects (places). We also need to determine our own positions and to localize objects (places) in the environment. In this talk, first I will contrast piloting and path integration in self positioning and goal localization. I will demonstrate that these two methods jointly determine people’s own positions in a cognitive map. Second, I will talk about studies investigating how we use path integration to develop spatial memory and guide our navigation in environments separated by boundaries. Last, I will talk about studies that examined whether humans maintain and update their 3D headings when they navigate in 3D spaces (i.e. moving from the floor to the wall).
报告人简介:
Dr. Weimin Mou is a full professor in the psychology department, University of Alberta, one of the top 5 universities in Canada. He joined University of Alberta in 2007. Prior to it, he worked as a professor at the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPCAS) between 2003 and 2007 (one-hundred talent program of CAS). He got his PhD at IPCAS and BS in the department of psychology of Hangzhou University (Now Zhejiang University). His lab is investigating human spatial cognition using behavioral experimental methods. The main research facility is immersive virtual environments. The major research goals are to understand how people develop/organize spatial memory and how people navigate in the environments relying on their spatial memory and momentary cues (both visual and self-motion cues). He has published about 40 articles in major journals of cognitive experimental psychology, most in JEP or Cognition.

社会认知中存在两个基本维度——能力和热情。大量研究发现,两个维度常倾向于呈现负向关系,称为补偿效应。我们探索了基于两维度的刻板印象与元刻板印象在群际中是否存在补偿效应,并通过对元刻板印象与刻板印象进行系统性对比,关注二者之间的差异,以及这种差异对于群际关系的意义。

浙江大学心理系应届博士,比利时新鲁汶大学联合培养博士。研究方向为社会认知(刻板印象、偏见、群体决策等)和跨文化心理学。
